My Priorities for the Las Lomitas School District

Academic excellence so every student can reach their full potential

  • Bring academics back to Pre-Covid standards and beyond
  • Invigorate STEM program & Middle School Core
  • Restore Technology class for 4th/5th graders
  • Bring STEM in early (K-3); encourage girls into STEM
  • Support Robotics & Makers Space
  • Push for a librarian at EACH school
  • Support a history teacher for 8th grade
  • Hire full time art and music teachers at Las Lomitas
  • Keep class sizes SMALL

Supporting our greatest resource: the teachers

  • Listen to our outstanding teachers and prioritize their concerns
  • Fund teachers' desired subject matter Professional Development
  • Prioritize student facing positions
  • Incentivize teacher support of enrichment programs/field trips with bonuses/stipends:

                    * Model UN

                    * Robotics Team

                    * Makers Space

                    * LE Math Team

                    * Latin Field Trips

                    * 8th Grade Washington DC Trip, and more

Community empowerment - Your voice must be heard

  • The board must represent the values, beliefs and priorities of the community (with a focus on students)
  • Transparency to the public must be prioritized
  • Eliminate unnecessary non-student facing positions ("administrative bloat") & minimize anything that does not support student learning ("scope creep")
  • Reconsider expensive, private professional development programs, especially those that are out-of-state and are irrelevant to teachers' needs/student's benefit
  • District employees need to promote fiscal responsibility to the taxpayers and provide a clear budget
  • Make community resources ("green space") available to taxpayers
  • Enter responsible agreements with revenue generating tenant leases
